Rob Moore leaves Orange to join Doug Marrone’s staff in Buffalo

Former Syracuse University great Rob Moore is leaving his post as Orange wide receivers’ coach to join Doug Marrone’s staff with the Buffalo Bills.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Former Syracuse University great Rob Moore is leaving his post as Orange wide receivers’ coach to join Doug Marrone’s staff with the Buffalo Bills.

Before a 12-year career in the NFL, Moore set SU receiving records, including yards per game and touchdown receptions.

He played with the New York Jets and also the Arizona Cardinals.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1994 and 1997.

The 45-year-old Moore has been coaching at his alma mater for four years.

Coach Scott Shafer released an official statement regarding Moore’s departure:

“We celebrate Rob Moore’s opportunity to coach in the National Football League with the Buffalo Bills and look forward to recruiting the next best person to help our program attack the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2014. We have communicated our plan with our team and our National Letter of Intent signees. As soon as we hire our new coach, we look forward to introducing him to Cuse Nation.”
