BURLINGTON, Vt. - A Burlington Park is back open after some big renovations.
Roosevelt Park celebrated its grand re-opening today as part of the Penny for Parks project. The new park received a teen academic center, new tennis and basketball courts.
The project is just one of 61 that have been completed to revitalize parks around the city. Voters approved the project in 2008.
"I hope the public feels good that when they went to the ballot box and said they wanted progress in this area and this team has made it happen," Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger (D) said.
The mayor says the program will complete 30 more park improvement projects in 2015 at a budget of more than $1 million.
