CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. - For those of you who have to take I-87 in the North Country often, get ready for a lot of construction over the next two years.
FOX 44 and ABC 22 told you about this on Friday. The project to replace the Route 11 bridge will start May 5th. Expect to see construction signs soon!
Engineers say *safety* will be the top priority.
"Most of the work will be behind concrete barrier so that gives us safety edge for the workers and also crossovers for traffic," Jim Kentile, NYS DOT Engineer, said.
On the interstate, the southbound side will be closed first, but there will still be two-way traffic. Roundabouts on either side of the highway will be tackled next year.
