Shaw's, Star Market Report Data Breach

Data from grocery store customers in five New England states may have been compromised.
COLCHESTER, Vt. - The parent company of Shaw's and Star Market says customer information may be at risk after an unlawful intrusion into its electronic payment system.

So far the company says there is no evidence of misuse, but it cannot yet determine if any credit or debit card data was stolen.

Customers who shopped at Shaw's and Star Market locations between June 22 and July 17 in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island should monitor their accounts. The company says that's when the breach occurred.

Other stores operated by Albertsons were also impacted outside of New England.

Free consumer identity protection services will be offered for any customers impacted, according to the company. For more information, click here.
