Ski Resorts Report Good Thanksgiving Weekend

Ski resorts in the area are off to a good start this winter season.
STOWE, Vt. - Ski resorts in the area are off to a good start this winter season.

At Stowe Mountain, resort officials say snow at the base is one to two feet deep and every day they are making even more to add to that.

With 35 runs open, the resort's director of marketing says so far, so good.

"Ski season is really all about momentum. And when you have a good Thanksgiving weekend like the one we just had, we ran out of lifts and parking spaces and everything in between, we just had a really busy weekend, it's just sets the pace and the tone for the winter," says Michael Colbourn, Stowe Director of Marketing.

Other resorts in Vermont are enjoying the start of the season as well. Jay Peak has 12 trails open, while Killington has 44.
