MIDDLETOWN SPRINGS, Vt. - Police say two people were hurt after their plane crashed in Middletown Springs Saturday.
Police say the small single engine Cesna took off near Burlington and was headed to Glens Falls, New York.
When it arrived there, police say the pilot, Richard Piccirilli, 65 of Sun City, California, reported there was an event at the Glens Falls airport. Piccirilli reported there were air balloons and possibly cars on the runway.
Police say Piccirilli says he tried to head to an airport in Rutland but he ran out of gas. They say he crashed on Route 140 in Middletown Springs.
Police say both Piccirilli and his passenger David Querry, 53 of Hemet, California, were hurt though not badly.
Police say it does not appear drugs or alcohol were involved.
