Coffee lovers, listen up. A new study suggests people under 55 who drink 4 or more cups of coffee a day are more likely to die earlier than others.

Experts caution this study has major limitations. They say the findings do not show that coffee actually causes an early death.

The team tracked more than 40,000 people between 20 and 87 years old for an average of sixteen years. During that period more than 2,500 people died.

After adjusting for factors such as smoking and fitness, the results show people who drank more than 28 cups of coffee a week were more than 20% more likely to die.

That risk was 50% higher in men and women younger than 55.
