TEXAS - Americans are voicing their frustration over the government shutdown in all kinds of ways including protests, letters, and apparently pumpkin carvings.

This is the creation of Texas father Kurt Scherf and his two sons. Scherf says he's already written his congressional representatives so decided to  poke a little fun at the crisis.

The pumpkin carving is only half done and the sign on top of it is mocking those posted at National Parks that were closed because of the shutdown.

It reads: "Due to the government shutdown, work on this pumpkin has been temporarily halted."
