Uncover your Inner Artist

It’s been going on for 22 years and this year there are some brand new additions to the South End Art Hop.

BURLINGTON, Vt.- It’s been going on for 22 years and this year there are some brand new additions to the South End Art Hop. This free event invites everyone to make a trip down Pine St. and Flynn Ave. to look at all types of art.

There are plenty of new things to see and do this year like Aaron Stein’s Demo Derby car, a 're-flush' dunk tank, chocolate sculptures and you can learn what it takes to make your own stand up paddle board.

The Art Hop begins Friday and lasts until Sunday. Along with bringing out your inner artist you will also find food and live music at most locations. Like ReSource, on Pine St., you'll find two food trucks, bands and a few unconventional games.

Work your way down Pine and go mini-golfing, watch glass blowing, see a deep sea interactive installation and chocolate sculptures at South End Kitchen. Most of the locations offer workshops which you can participate in during Art Hop and also sign up for classes after the weekend is over.

One in particular gives people the opportunity to make their own stand up paddle board out of wood with help from Duane Albro at Tao Woodworking.

“Sometimes people don’t even know we’re here and they walk in and say ‘holy cow’ this is great,” said Albro.

The South End Art Hop gives the public the opportunity to uncover unique experiences and explore the artistic side of the South End of Burlington.
