US Marshals Arrest Fugitive Accused of Stealing Car to Flee From Police

The U.S. Marshals and Rutland Police arrested a Bristol fugitive who is accused of stealing a car to flee from police on Thursday.
BURLINGTON, Vt. - The U.S. Marshals and Rutland Police arrested a Bristol fugitive who is accused of stealing a car to flee from police on Thursday. 


A press release says Kevin Williams, 41, of Bronx, N.Y., is accused of stealing a bottle of liquor from Cumberland Farms and then stealing a running, parked car on February 27. 

The vehicle was recovered 3 days later in a parking lot in Springfield, Vt. 

Police say Williams' was located in Rutland, where he lied about his identity when confronted. He has a long history criminal history including charges for possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, and numerous other felonies. 

Williams was lodged at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.
