UVM Men's Hockey Releases 2013-14 Television Schedule

The 2013-2014 television schedule has the UVM Men's Hockey team appearing on NESN twice.

The Vermont men's hockey team will appear on regional and national television at least five times during the 2013-14 season as the Catamounts have announced their TV schedule. UVM will appear twice on New England Sports Network (NESN), twice on Fox College Sports (FCS), and once on Comcast SportsNet New England (CSNNE).

Vermont's next game against the Penn State Nittany Lions at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia will be televised by CSNNE, as well as by CSN Philadelphia. The game marks the second edition of the Philadelphia College Hockey Faceoff and the first year of the Big Ten/Hockey East Challenge.

The Catamounts' first of two appearances on NESN takes place on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. as they host Providence in Hockey East action at Gutterson Fieldhouse. NESN will also broadcast UVM's road contest against Boston University at Agganis Arena on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. in game two of a weekend series.

Two more conference matchups on the road will appear live on FCS in February. The Cats will face New Hampshire at the Whittemore Center on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with Merrimack at Lawler Arena on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Both games will also appear on WBIN, which is available in the Boston area and southern New Hampshire.

NESN has three regular season flex dates on Feb. 15, Feb. 28, and March 1 that will be announced at a later date. The network will also televise one Hockey East First Round playoff game and two Quarterfinal games, and it will air the 2014 Hockey East Championship from TD Garden on March 21-22 along with the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN).

Vermont began its 50th anniversary season this past weekend with a two-game set on the road against No. 7 North Dakota in Grand Forks. The Catamounts fell 5-3 on Friday before earning a 2-2 tie on Saturday at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
