BURLINGTON, Vt. - Dozens of people from our area traveled to Boston Wednesday to watch the World Series Game 6.

Milne Travel organized a bus trip with nearly fifty people from our area.

Long time Red Sox fan Max MacDonald returned to work in Burlington Thursday a day after going to the World Series.

"Once in a lifetime that's for sure," says MacDonald.

MacDonald carried memories of the game and the ticket that got him into Game 6.

"This is something that's definitely going to be framed and put in the office," says MacDonald.

MacDonald was one of about 45 people who traveled from our area to Boston. The group's tour guide was Shap Smith, Vermont's Speaker of the House.

"The game was really fun. We did get home really late last night," says Smith.

Smith, who is actually a Yankees fan at heart, says he couldn't pass up a trip to the World Series, even if it meant going to work on a few hours of sleep.

"I had never been to Fenway before so it was just incredible to get to the seats be near the field," says Smith.

"There was probably one moment when Victorino came up with bases loaded and we all know he's pretty clutch in the playoffs with the bases loaded situation. That bases clearing double was something to be had for sure," says MacDonald.

The group watched as the Red Sox won their first World Series at home in almost one-hundred years and saw this community come together.

"For what happened in the spring, you can definitely tell in that scene that everybody was into it," says MacDonald.

"I've been to a lot of baseball games at places all around the country. This was definitely one of the most special ever," says Smith.

MacDonald says he did have ticktets to the World Series in 2004. But it was for Game 7 and the series never got that far.

He says if the Sox make it to the World Series again, he will try to go again too.
