Vermonters might head to the polls earlier to vote in the state's primary election.
Vermont had already moved it from September to the last Friday in August. Now lawmakers are considering moving it even earlier to meet federal law.
They are looking at moving the primary to the first Tuesday in August starting in 2016.
Federal law requires that absentee ballots be sent to military members 45 days before an election.
