Two Vermont towns are getting more than $257,000 federal dollars sent their way for rural development.
Greensboro, Vt. received the largest chunk, $251,000 for water assistance. The money will be used for new infrastructure including a new well, pump and control building.
Brattleboro is receiving $6,000 to help build a permanent site for the Brattleboro area farmers market.
The funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture money and was announced by Senators Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Congressman Peter Welch (D).
