BURLINGTON, Vt. –
Freshman Bernard Yeboah scored twice to lead the Vermont men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over visiting Hofstra in non-conference action on Wednesday at Virtue Field.

In the 12th minute of the match, Danny Childs slipped a short through pass to Yeboah who was able to get behind the Hofstra defense.  Yeboah fired off a low shot to the far corner and was able to beat the Pride goalkeeper Roberto Pellegrini.

Hofstra answered 11 minutes later.  Chris Greibsch served a ball into the box from the right wing, teammate Maid Memic flicked the service on with a header to the back post and Marius Flateboe was there to finish off the scoring opportunity.

The teams headed into halftime with the score knotted at 1-1.

Yeboah added his second goal of the game in the early minutes of the second half.  Vermont earned a throw in deep in its offensive third of the field.  Luke Salmon's long throw bounced into the box and Yeboah was able to bury a volley for his second career goal as a Catamount.

UVM held Hofstra off the scoreboard the rest of the way to pick up its fifth win of the season and remain unbeaten at home (3-0-1).  Vermont moves to 5-1-2 overall, while Hofstra falls to 2-3-1.

Conor Leland was credited with one stop for Vermont, while Pellegrini made five saves for Hofstra.
