STORRS, Conn. – Brittany Zuback became the first Catamount since 2007 to record a hat trick as Vermont defeated Connecticut 4-0 in its Hockey East opener Friday afternoon at Freitas Ice Forum.

The Catamounts extended their lead at the 8:25 mark during a sequence of four-on-four play. Zuback and Amanda Pelkey broke in alone on Moses, Zuback passed to Pelkey who quickly passed back to the junior forward who tapped in her second goal of the afternoon. Pelkey picked up her team leading 12th point of the season on Zuback's goal.
