Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Fab Melo’s career has hit another road block as the former Syracuse University center was cut by the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.

The move was made as the Mavericks look to get their roster down to 15 players.

Thus far, the former Orange standout has been a bust in the NBA. He was drafted in the first round by the Boston Celtics and played in just six games as a rookie.

He spent the majority of his rookie year in the D-League before being traded to Memphis over the summer.

The Grizzlies promptly dumped him two weeks later.

In three preseason games with Dallas, Melo averaged less than 2 points and 2 rebounds per game.
