Hometown Hotspot: Prepare Your Car for Winter

As winter is bearing down, is your car ready for winter travel?
Is your car ready for winter? Dave Kaigle, the shop foreman at Burlington Subaru recommends getting a good set of winter tires. He says that while some winter tires are more expensive than others, they are all effective. Also, during the winter, cold temperatures can cause your tires to lose pressure, so be sure to check your tires regularly.  It is also important to keep a full tank of gas in your car so that condensation doesn’t build up in your tank, causing your car not to start. Kaigle also recommends a good set of windshield wipers and to keep an extra container of wiper fluid in your trunk. It is also a good idea to keep an emergency kit in your car in case your car breaks down on the roadway. Your kit should include water, food and blankets.
