Latest Flu Trends Across the Area

The flu may have been late getting to the Northeast, but health experts say they're seeing signs.
BURLINGTON, Vt. -  The flu may have been late getting to the Northeast, but health experts say they're seeing signs.

The Centers for Disease Control reports Vermont, New Hampshire and New York are seeing activity.

The Vermont Health Department says H1N1 will be most common.

They're reminding people to get a flu shot.  It's free for kids in Vermont 18 and under and takes two weeks to be fully effective.

"We haven't seen a lot of flu activity in Vermont yet, but we're definitely seeing it," Patsy Kelso, Vermont State Epidemilogist, said. "It's the time of year when viruses and people mix up and you can start to see increased activity."
