NEWPORT, N.H. - According to WMUR, a man accused of killing his estranged wife pleaded not guilty to charges of first and second degree murder Thursday.

James Robarge is accused of killing Kelly Robarge in their Charlestown home on June 27, the day she filed for divorce. Her body was found in a wooded area in Unity, N.H. on July 6.

WMUR says in court, Sgt. John Sonia, the lead investigator for the state police Major Crimes Unit, said there was a history of violent arguments between the couple and that James Robarge threatened to kill his wife if she filed for divorce.

The defense stated the voices heard by a neighbor at the Robarge residence on June 27 couldn't be identified and that investigators can't exactly say how or when Kelly Robarge died.

Some members of the Robarge family were in court on Thursday.
