CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire is considering a hike safe card that would forgive negligent hikers from paying back rescue costs.

According to the bill, the annual fee for a hike safe card would cost an individual $25 and $35 for a family. The hike safe card would be available for purchase on the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department's website.

The bill is scheduled to reach the House floor on January 8. It was voted out of the Fish and Game and Marine Resources Committee by a 12-0 vote in November.
