MASSENA, N.Y. - New York State Police need help finding a stolen tractor.

New York State Police say a 1988-1990 Kubota tractor from Nicholville, N.Y. was stolen sometime in early December 2013. An unsuspecting buyer in Vermont may have purchased the tractor, believing the transaction was legitimate.

Police say the buyer may have arranged to meet the suspect in Ellenburg Center, N.Y. on December 5 at the old K&L Store located on Route 11.

The tractor is described as being orange in color and has a 4' loader/bucket on the front. There are no decals on the hood of the tractor and may have been repainted.

Police say the suspect was operating a white, 2005 Nissan Titan pickup. The suspect would have been towing a small, white utility trailer with aluminum fenders.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police at (315)-769-8406 (daytime) or (315-379-0012 (evenings and weekends).
