MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Middlebury officials are closing watching the Middlebury River for potential flooding this weekend.

Officials say the presence of ice jams on the Middlebury River, in both East Middlebury and easterly up the mountain, pose the risk of flooding due to warmer and rain forecast for the weekend.

East Middlebury residents with properties in flood prone areas should take necessary precautions. Both Route 125 and Route 7 are in the area of the river are also at risk to see flooding.
