RANDOLPH, Vt.- A Massachusetts man died when the vehicle he was in slid off the interstate and collided with a tree.
Vermont State Police said Benjamin Mohla, 21, of Wakefield, Mass., was a passenger in the back seat of a truck driven by Jonathan Taliadoros, 22, of Gloucester, Mass.
Officers said around 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Taliadoros lost control on Interstate 89 in Randolph, Vt. The truck then slid off the road and down a hill. Police said the truck came to a stop when the rear end hit a tree. At the time of the accident, police said it was snowing and the roadways were snow covered.
Police said Mohla was sitting in the back seat and was killed. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Taliadoros and another passenger were transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock, police said.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and police add no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
