COLCHESTER, Vt. - Vermont State Police say a South Burlington man led them on a chase on U.S. Route 2 and I-89 Wednesday.

They say 49-year-old Kenneth Perrotte faces charges including his 4th DUI, eluding a police officer, and four counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

Police say it started when someone called 911 to report a truck towing a trailer driving erratically and almost striking several other cars on U.S. Route 2 in South Hero.

Police say they caught up with the 2004 Ford truck towing an enclosed snowmobile trailer.  They also noticed it driving erratically and tried to pull it over. But that's when police say Perrotte took off.
They say during the chase Perrotte struck a marked DMV truck and avoided a tire deflation device.

After that, police say Perrotte drove south on I-89 and struck the side of a State Police cruiser twice and also hit a Milton Police cruiser. Police say he tried to turn around in the highway median near the Colchester weigh station where he was eventually stopped.

Perrotte is expected in court Thursday. He's being held on $50,000 bail.

Police say no one was hurt in the chase.
