Road Crews Treating the Roads

Road crews are ready.
WILLISTON, Vt. - Road crews are ready.

VTRANS says they've been out treating the roads since 4 a.m. spreading salt and brine. It's been hard because the temperature keeps changing and rain is re-freezing.

Their number one advice is just not to drive.

"I know its around the holidays and people want to get their shopping done, but be extremely careful. Allow yourself more time. Same precaution, if you don't have to be out there don't be. Just be prepared for changing conditions because that will happen throughout the night here." David Blackmore, of VTRANS, said.

VTrans believes they are ahead of the storm. They haven't had too many reports of untreated icy roads.
