Suspect in Recent NH Armed Robberies Arrested in Mass.

A man who, police say, was involved in recent armed robberies in Lebanon and Claremont, N.H. was arrested in Massachusetts on Saturday.
CLAREMONT, N.H. - A man who, police say, was involved in recent armed robberies in Lebanon and Claremont, N.H. was arrested in Massachusetts on Saturday.

Police identified James Oberfeldt, 30, of Claremont, N.H., as the suspect in the armed robberies at One Credit Union on October 11, 2013; Lake Sunapee Bank on November 20, 2013; and Claremont Savings Bank on November 26, 2013.

Oberfeldt was arrested by Massachusetts State Police on drug charges. He currently has an active warrant for a probation violation out of Sullivan County, N.H.

Police say Oberfeldt is currently being held on cash bail pending the resolution of his charges in Massachusetts and probation violation in Sullivan County. He is expected to be formally charged in the bank robberies listed above soon.

The Claremont Police Department say the firearm that was displayed in the above robberies was a Daisy Air-soft BB gun, Beretta 9mm replica, and not a real firearm.

Police are still completing their investigations into the armed robberies.
