COLCHESTER Vt.-Dr. Jan Carney from the University of Vermont College of Medicine joined us in the studio to talk about the dangers of using electronic cigarettes. She explains that there is a common misconception that e-cigs are a safe alterative to smoking regular cigarettes. But the reality is, as Dr. Carney explains, due to a lack of research and regulation, we don't know what long term effects e-cig use can have on the body. Because of the lack of regulation, 40 state Attorneys General nation wide have called on the Food and Drug Administration to regulate them.
