VSP: 2 Men Arrested Connected to CT Police Officer Assault

Vermont State Police obtained several search warrants Wednesday to locate two men wanted in Connecticut.
Vermont State Police say they arrested two men Wednesday connected to an incident in Connecticut.

They say Frankie Gonzalez, age 23, of Connecticut, was found at a family member’s home in Greensboro, VT.  19-year old Jaheem Snype, also of Connecticut, was at a friend’s home in Barton, VT.

Search warrants stem from an incident on January 19 in New Britain, CT.  Police say Officer Brett Morgan attempted to stop a stolen car being operated by Snype.  Officer Morgan was dragged by the vehicle and was seriously hurt.

VSP, US Marshals Office, FBI, and New Britain (CT) Police assisted in the arrests.  Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and no one was hurt.

Snype was arrested on a warrant from the State of Connecticut Superior Court for Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Assault on a Police Officer, and Larceny in the second degree. Gonzalez was arrested on a warrant from the State of Connecticut Superior Court for Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree and Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence.

Both men are expected to be arraigned Thursday at Orleans Criminal Court.
