Weather School: Contrails

Meteorologist Michael Page explains contrails.
Contrails, which is short for "Condensation Trails", form when hot, humid air flows out of a jet engine and into colder surrounding air. It's sort of like how you see your breath on a cold day.

The more moisture in the air, the longer you see the contrail.
