Weather School: "Euro" Model

Meteorologist Michael Page explains what the European computer model is, and why it's generally more accurate than American computer models.
Some cable networks are exposing viewers to weather models such as the GFS, a medium range model run by American scientists, and the "Euro", a weather model run by European scientists.

After the European model accurately predicted Hurricane Sandy's path into the east coast, many started hearing that it was superior to our American model. But why? Meteorologist Michael Page says it has to do with computing power- the "Euro" can crunch more numbers and solve more equations, a key part of forecasting.
