***A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 7 p.m. today for the threat of severe thunderstorms carrying damaging winds, heavy rainfall, lightning, and perhaps hail too.
July is truly beginning summer-like with hot temperatures, high humidity, and a threat of severe thunderstorms.
Once again Wednesday the biggest weather threats will be the hot weather and severe thunderstorms. It will, once again, end up being one of the hottest days of the calendar year so far with afternoon temperatures topping out near 90 degrees. The range of high temperatures will be 85-92 degrees, coupled with the humidity it will feel like the mid 90s with the heat index!
As a reminder when it becomes this hot, wear light and loose fitting clothing, drink plenty of (healthy) liquids, stay shaded, use sunscreen, and use good judgment. If you have to be outside take breaks at all times possible!
Severe thunderstorms are also a possibility. Any storms that pop up will have the potential for damaging wind gusts, driving rains, hail, and frequent lightning. Keep an ear out for any weather alerts and stay up to date with the latest forecast at www.mychamplainvalley.com/weather.
Regarding the July 3-6 Thursday to Sunday, on/off showers and downpours will still be around Thursday and Thursday night, then clearing toward morning Independence Day and giving way to a nice Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.
