After a streak of warm and bright days, heavy rain returns to the forecast by Wednesday.

Here's the setup, a large, slow moving area of Low pressure will drift through the eastern Great Lakes and move into southern Ontario. This will allow ample moisture to be "pushed" into the northeast, and bring a few bouts of rain, beginning overnight Tuesday, lasting into Wednesday. In total, it looks like many of us will get between 1 and 2 inches of rainfall, with localized amounts over 2-3". Those higher amounts should fall along the higher elevations, as well as the southeast facing sides of mountain ranges, due to a southeast wind direction helping enhance precipitation (almost a winter-like set up).

In fact, the rain will also bring a drop in temps for mid week and Thursday. Highs will struggle to reach past the 65-72 degree range most likely!

A return to (generally) drier and more seasonable temps by the time we reach the weekend.

While widespread flooding is not expected from the upcoming round of rain, there will likely be some pockets of flooding where the rain comes down heavier.
