Heavy rain returns to the forecast

After a streak of 5 days of dry weather, time to get some wet weather back
It's been nice! A streak of dry, warm days. But alas, we live in the northeast, and that has to come to an end at some point. And our dry streak will come to an end Tuesday night for nearly all areas.

Here's the way it looks. A few showers may work through the north and western portion of the region (northern NY, northwest VT, southern Quebec) Tuesday morning. But, the main event will arrive later Tuesday night into Wednesday, as a band of heavy rain sets up and slowly translates through the area from north to south. At this point, it looks like the heaviest rain and storms will arrive in northern NY between 6-9pm Tuesday, from 9-3am in northern VT, and sag into central VT but stall out and die out a bit. By Wednesday, another invigoration of heavy rain will again develop north, then slowly push south through the day. Difficult to time that out, but I'd think morning/early afternoon for northern regions, and afternoon/evening for southern regions.

In total, rainfall amounts will likely range from 1-2" by Wednesday night. Not enough to cause any widespread flood concerns, but certainly needs to be monitored. Rain will be heavy and probably not move too quickly come Wednesday, so do expect that flooding could occur, but where and when will be determined once the rain actually takes shape that day.
