Bitterly cold temperatures will stay stuck in our area through Monday. Because of the cold air, a snow event this weekend will fall in the form of fluffy accumulations. Two incoming areas of low pressure, one from the Great Lakes and another developing near the Delmarva Peninsula, will combine to give us a moderate snow event Saturday night into Sunday. Snow will start Saturday afternoon in southern VT/NH, and gradually spread north through the late evening. Snow will last through Sunday morning, gradually tapering off through the afternoon. Snow accumulations of 4-7" are currently expected for northern NY and far northern VT, but higher totals of 6-10" will be more common for central/southern regions with even higher amounts in the mountains. Snow totals are still preliminary and subject to change, so please check back in with us as the weekend approaches. Warmer temperatures will come into the region for late next week.
