Hanover, NH – Fifteen players for Dartmouth College men’s basketball have filed a petition to unionize through the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) with the goal of being considered employees of the institution.

With approval, this would give players the ability to collectively negotiate their salaries and benefits. Managers and supervisors are exclude from the petition.

The process could take several years to play out and may be subject to litigation in the courts before it is settled.

In a statement, Dartmouth College said, “We are carefully considering this petition with the airm of responding promptly, yet thoughtfully.”.
