Pride Center of VT to hold first ever overdose prevention workshop

Morning Show Segments

The Pride Center of Vermont is dedicated to the health and safety of LGBTQ Vermonters. For pride week, one of their programs, GLAM Vermont, is holding a brand-new overdose prevention workshop called “Proudly Responsible.”

The workshop is specific to Vermont Pride because often in celebrations, there is increased substance use. Johnny Chagnon, the Health and Wellness Coordinator of GLAM Vermont, says the workshop is part a weekly core meeting.

The Pride Center has teamed up with Howard Center’s Safe Recovery Program. Grace Keller, the Program Coordinator, will run the workshop on Wednesday, September 4 and teach attendees how to use the opioid reversal drug, Narcan.

2019’s Pride them is “Proud Legacy, Powerful Future: 50 years of Persistence.” For more information on the workshop, click here.
