Celebration of music food, drinks and a love of Lake Champlain is underway this weekend at the Burlington waterfront.
It’s the 12th annual Lake Champlain Maritime Festival. The band ‘Twiddle’ is playing Friday and Saturday nights.
‘Ween’ plays Sunday.
While it’s known for its music, the festival aims to be a vehicle for stewardship of the lake.
“The mission really of the festival is to bring people down to the waterfront, celebrate the Burlington waterfront, Lake Champlain, all it has to offer,” said Mike O’Brien, founder of Lake Champlain Maritime Festival. “We’re the only event, in Burlington, on the waterfront, that has activities on the water.”
There are also kids events this weekend, including Pirates Park with a live pirate and mermaid and a Circus Smirkus show.
More than 30 boats will participate in a boat show Saturday afternoon from 10am – 4pm.
