A sea of red took over downtown Burlington Sunday.
More than 1,100 Santas took a run from Church Street to the Hilton in Burlington.
Organizers of the 6th Annual RiRa 5K Santa Run hoped to raise $20,000 for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, a camp for kids who have, or have had, cancer.
“This is one of my favorite events of the year, I mean just that sea of red going up Battery Hill, and knowing so many community members and families are out here running, having a great cause, dressed like santa, having fun. and knowing that it goes to support Camp-Ta-Kum-Ta, is just great,” said Hattie Johnson, executive director of Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.
Local 22/Local 44 Chief Meteorologist Sean Parker MC’d the event.
More than $70,000 has been raised in the Santa run over the past five years.
