A new treatment and rehabilitation center for people struggling with opioid addiction opened in St. Albans Town Thursday. People were able to get a first-hand look at the clinic’s new location on South Main Street.
BAART programs originally had a temporary clinic at Northwestern Medical Center after the need for a methadone clinic in the area.
The facility is equipped to serve 700 patients.

Right now there are around 250.
“Our patients are just like you or I.” Said Jason Goguen, BAART Regional Director. “They just stumbled down the wrong path and they need some help getting there feet back under them but they’re school teachers, mailmen, the person painting your house or mowing you lawn. This disease has no boundaries.”
This is BAART’s 4th treatment facility in Vermont.
On top of daily doses of methadone, patients are required to have at minimum monthly counseling meeting at the center.
