The past year’s top athletes, performances and achievements will be celebrated Wednesday in Los Angeles at the 2019 ESPYS, which raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

The show, which airs live on ABC from Microsoft Theater, will be hosted by comedian Tracey Morgan.

The event benefits the V Foundation for Cancer Research, the charity founded by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jim Valvano, and introduced by Valvano during his memorable speech at the first ESPYS on March 4, 1993.

Valvano died shortly after his speech, but his words still inspire many people with cancer, while providing all of us motivation to never give up.
