Tuesday, April 4, is Ben & Jerry’s annual event “Free Cone Day”.
According to a media release, since the Burlington Scoop Shop is closed for renovations but you can still get your free cone on Church Street.
Ben & Jerry’s is hosting a block party from noon till 8 p.m. on the top of Church Street by Pearl and Cherry Streets.
“Our customers are incredibly loyal and share our values on important issues like marriage equality, climate change, and racial justice,” said Ben & Jerry’s CEO Jostein Solheim.
“Through the power of ice cream, we are able to form strong connections and create positive social change together. Free Cone Day is one way we show our fans how much we appreciate them,” added Solheim.
Officials say “Free Cone Day” has been going on since 1979 as a way for the company to give back to the community. A media release says more than one million cones will be given away worldwide.
For those who can’t make it to Church Street, “Free Cone Day” will also be celebrated at the Davis Center in Burlington, Smugglers Notch, Rutland, Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury, and Manchester.
