Current and former students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are on their way back to Parkland, Florida this morning after five of them met with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders on Tuesday.

The group traveled to Capitol Hill to speak with Sanders and other lawmakers about preventing another mass shooting like the one they experienced two weeks ago.

Sanders said, in part, “…they resolved not just to mourn and grieve their friends and neighbors, they resolved to stand up and fight back and come to Washington, to go to Tallahasse, Florida, go around the country to do everything they can to make certain that no more children, no more young people are mowed down and slaughtered in schools.”
