Bill requiring amusement ride inspection passes the House

Video News

A bill to keep you safe at the fair, or anywhere with amusements, has passed through the Vermont House.

Bill H.780 would require amusement rides be inspected. The bill also puts the Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets in charge of issuing certificates of operation. It also calls for some violation fines to be increased.

Vermont is one of a few states that did not have a mandatory amusement ride inspection program.

The bill will still need to go through the Senate.
