Burlington Police announced Wednesday that two men were arrested for drugs, and one is facing conspiracy to commit murder.
They were arrested Tuesday afternoon after a motor vehicle stop, according to police.
The driver, Leon Delima, 29, or Burlington was arrested for multiple counts of selling cocaine, according to officials. Authorities say Delima was present as a witness at the scene of the last three drug-related shootings in Burlington. Delima is currently being held at Chittenden Regional Correctional Center.
The passenger of the car, Scott Hunter, 19, of Brooklyn, was arrested after running away for selling heroin.
BPD spoke with detectives in NYC and found Hunter had an arrest warrant out of Brooklyn for charges of conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a release from police. Hunter is also being held at Chittenden Regional Correctional Center.
Officials say Delima has been convicted in Vermont for possession of cocaine, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and violation of conditions of release.
