Burlington Police say a woman who was reported missing in December 2017 has been found dead.
Police say around 11:00 a.m. on April 11, they were dispatched to an area in the Intervale for the report of a dead body.
The remains were subsequently transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
The office, along with police, were able to positively identify the body as Patricia Rooney, 57 of Burlington.
The cause of death is still being investigated; foul play is not suspected at this time.
Police say Rooney had a history of depression and had recently been suffering around the time of her disappearance.
