Burlington, VT – Burlington Police say they’ve arrested the man seen peering into the windows of a woman’s home in the Hill Section of Burlington.

Police say after receiving tips from neighbors, officers arrested James G. Townsend. Townsend is 37 years old and lives in Burlington. He is charged with two counts of stalking and three counts of voyeurism. Police say he was arrested quickly and without incident.

Police say Townsend is the man caught on surveillance video early Thursday morning peering into the window’s of a woman’s home. The woman told police she first saw the man around 5:17 p.m. Wednesday. He returned just after 2 a.m. Thursday and tried to get into the home.

Burlington Police say Townsend's criminal record shows nine convictions including two sex crimes charges & one conviction of domestic assault.     A judge ordered him held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility on $1,000 bail.
