The cause of death has been released following a crash last Sunday that killed a driver at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
According to a death certificate, 61-year-old Ron Casey died of blunt impacts to his torso.
The speedway owner said Casey suffered a medical event during the race, causing him to veer off track and hit a wall at 75 miles per hour.
The certificate also points to high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and diabetes as contributing conditions.
Casey was a veteran driver at the West Haven track.
