Chef In Running For James Beard Award

A local chef is getting national recognition for his craft.

Chef Aaron Josinsky, owner and chef of ‘Misery Loves Company’ in Winooski, is a James Beard Award semi-finalist for a second time for the Best Chef Northwest.

The Beard Award is one of the most coveted, it’s considered the Golden Globe, Gramm or Oscar of the culinary world.

For this competition, judges have to eat at the restaurant before they can vote.

” It’s really not about awards, it really is about have guest – more guests come in our front doors,” Josinsky said. Hopefully a little national attention will help us in the long run.”

Josinsky will find out tomorrow if he is a finalist for the competition. There is also another Vermonter in the running, Chef Wesly Genovart with ‘Solo Farm and Table” in South Londonderry. 

The main event to announce the winners will be held May 2 in Chicago.
