The City of Plattsburgh unanimously passed a five year budget plan Thursday.

The plan calls for nearly a 2 percent tax increase over the next 5 years.

It will also require more severe budget cuts.

The council says it will help the City of Plattsburgh return to financial stability and avoid double digit tax increases.

The plan is also expected to help Mayor Colin Read draft his budget that’s expected to come out in early fall.
